Far Northern Region

 

District office locations: Cairns, Innisfail, Mareeba, Thursday Island and Weipa

 

The Far Northern Region is Queensland’s beautiful “top end,” stretching from Cardwell to Weipa and across the Torres Strait Islands. It’s a place filled with amazing spots like Cape York, the Cassowary Coast, the Tablelands, the Great Barrier Reef and Thursday Island.

Northern Region District office locations: Mackay, Mount Isa, Townsville

 

The Northern Region covers a mix of coastal towns and Outback communities, stretching from Sarina up to Ingham and west to Mount Isa. It’s a friendly, down‑to‑earth part of Queensland where people look out for each other and community connections really matter.

 

As a Community Corrections officer here, your work is all about supporting people to make positive changes. You’ll spend your days meeting with clients, working with families, connecting with Elders, and teaming up with local services to help people stay on track. Become a familiar face in the community, someone people trust and turn to for guidance.

 

The region itself offers plenty to enjoy outside of work, from rainforests and waterfalls to Outback sunsets and local events that bring everyone together. But the real highlight is the sense of belonging. You’re not just doing a job, you’re becoming part of a community and making a real difference in people’s lives.

Central Region

 

District office locations: Bundaberg, Gladstone, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton and Emerald

 

Central Region spans communities from the coast through to rural and remote areas, giving officers the chance to work closely with a wide range of people and local services. As a Community Corrections Case Manager, you’ll spend time meeting with clients, completing assessments, supporting behaviour change, and building strong partnerships with community organisations, police, and health teams. The work is hands‑on and relationship‑driven, you’re helping people set goals, stay accountable, and move toward safer choices. Team culture is a big part of the experience, with colleagues who support one another and make space for connection, whether that’s celebrating milestones, joining creative activities, or simply checking in. It’s a region where meaningful work and a grounded, community‑focused approach come together.

North Coast Region

 

District office locations: Pine Rivers, Redcliffe, Caboolture, Maroochydore and Gympie

 

The North Coast Region stretches from Brisbane’s outer suburbs up through the Sunshine Coast and into Gympie. It’s a mix of busy centres, relaxed coastal towns, and close‑knit regional communities.

 

As a Community Corrections officer, your work focuses on supporting people. You’ll get to know clients, families, police, health services, and local organisations, building strong working relationships along the way. Your days are hands‑on and varied, helping people access support, solving problems, and working with others to keep the community safe. Over time, you become a familiar and trusted part of people’s lives.

 

Officers work across different office settings, from smaller regional teams to larger hubs like Maroochydore. There are plenty of chances to grow your skills too, with opportunities to join regional action groups and strengthen your case management experience.

 

Community spirit is a big part of life in this region. Local events, school programs, NAIDOC Week, and International Women’s Day all bring people together and create a strong sense of connection.

 

With natural highlights like the Glass House Mountains and Mooloolaba Beach nearby, the North Coast Region offers meaningful, community‑focused work alongside an easy, enjoyable lifestyle

South Coast Region

 

District office location: Beenleigh, Burleigh, Logan City and Southport

 

The South Coast Region is busy, diverse, and full of opportunity. From the Gold Coast’s famous beaches to the multicultural communities of Logan and Beenleigh, it’s a lively place to live and work.

 

As a Community Corrections officer here, you gain real insight into the justice system, especially with two of Queensland’s largest court complexes based in Beenleigh and Southport. You’ll also work closely with specialist Domestic and Family Violence courts, local agencies, and nearby correctional centres in the Scenic Rim. These strong partnerships help you build meaningful connections and support better outcomes for the people you work with.

 

The team culture is supportive, and there are plenty of chances to grow your skills and develop professionally. And when you need a break, you’re never far from the coast, the hinterland, or community events that bring people together.

 

The South Coast Region offers a great mix of career growth, community connection, and an enjoyable lifestyle.

Southern Region

 

District office locations: Inala, Ipswich, Kingaroy, Roma and Toowoomba

 

The Southern Region covers metro, regional, rural, and outback communities, giving officers the chance to work in a wide range of settings.

 

As a Community Corrections officer, your role is centred on supporting people to make positive changes. You’ll meet with clients, help them access services, complete assessments, and work closely with families, police, health teams, and local organisations. Your days are varied, and you become a steady, trusted presence in the community.

 

The region offers strong training, supportive teams, and opportunities to build your case management skills. Some locations are also eligible for the Remote Area Incentive Scheme.

 

Outside of work, the Southern Region has plenty to enjoy, from race days and rodeos to wineries, nightlife, hiking trails, and community events all giving you a great balance of meaningful work and lifestyle.

Brisbane

 

District office locations: Spring Hill, Chermside, Mt Gravatt, Greenslopes, Redlands, Wynnum, QDAC, Brisbane Regional Office

 

The Brisbane Region is where career growth and lifestyle come together. You’ve got the energy of the city, the calm of Stradbroke Island, and the greenery of the hinterland all within easy reach.

 

As a Community Corrections officer, you’ll work across a variety of metro and regional locations, gaining broad experience and exposure to different communities. With the largest number of District Offices, you’re supported by specialist teams and have access to unique opportunities such as the Queensland Drug and Alcohol Court and Domestic & Family Violence initiatives. You’ll build strong partnerships with government and community organisations, helping support rehabilitation and strengthen community safety.

 

Outside of work, Brisbane offers plenty to enjoy, culture, dining, national parks, beaches, and tropical islands just a short trip away. It’s a region where meaningful work and a great lifestyle go hand in hand.
