Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre
Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre is the largest male remand centre in South-East Queensland.
Clinicians at Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and assessment-focused environment as part of a multidisciplinary team of counsellors, custodial staff, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural liaison officers, and other service providers.
Clinicians at Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre develop skills in case management and brief intervention, with ongoing support from a team of experienced senior clinicians, some of whom are board-approved supervisors.
Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre
Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre offers a unique opportunity for clinicians to work with women in custody who often present with complex needs.
The centre is the primary reception centre for female offenders in South-East Queensland and employs gender responsive and trauma-informed practice.
Clinicians at Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre work within a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, intervention and engage in case management with a variety of external stakeholders to support positive rehabilitation of women and encourage positive connections with their children and families.
Brisbane Correctional Centre
Brisbane Correctional Centre is the primary reception centre for newly sentenced male prisoners in South-East Queensland. It contains mainstream and protection units, as well as a maximum-security unit.
A variety of dynamic offender management regimens are used to manage its diverse offender population.
Clinicians at Brisbane Correctional Centre use acute assessment skills to identify suicide risk, cognitive impairment, and mental illness. They deliver brief intervention to acute cases and provide advice and management strategies.
Senior psychologists who are STAP-accredited provide provisionally registered psychologists with on-site secondary supervision.
Wolston Correctional Centre
Wolston Correctional Centre accommodates male prisoners classified as protection.
The centre supports progression towards rehabilitative outcomes, including programs, education and employment.
Clinicians at Wolston Correctional Centre conduct assessments and provide intervention and case management with more predictable timeframes regarding release.
Ipswich

Clinicians at Borallon Training and Correctional Centre conduct assessments, deliver group and individual interventions, and engage in case management to support positive outcomes. They have the opportunity to work with culturally diverse individuals, as well as support and be involved in culturally based activities, adding to the inclusive nature of the centre.

Rockhampton

Capricornia Correctional Centre accommodates male prisoners and is a remand, reception and placement centre.
Clinicians working at the centre undertake assessments, conduct intervention and engage in case management. They work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support improvements in the mental health and positive rehabilitative of prisoners in their care.

Lotus Glen Correctional Centre is a high and low security centre, located 25 kilometres south of Mareeba. The centre accommodates both high and low security male prisoners.
Lotus Glen Correctional Centre provides a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from regional and remote areas.
Clinicians at the centre conduct assessments and undertake intervention and case management activities, developing skills, knowledge and experience in applying a culturally safe lens to their practice.

Maryborough

The historical town of Maryborough is located in the Fraser Coast region of Queensland.
Situated on the Mary River, Maryborough is approximately 255 kilometres north of Brisbane and home to approximately 22,000 people.

Lockyer Valley

Southern Queensland Correctional Centre
Southern Queensland Correctional Centre is a high security women’s facility located in Spring Creek, approximately 17 kms from the township of Gatton.
Women who enter the criminal justice system often come from lives characterised by sexual, emotional and physical abuse, domestic and family violence, substance addiction and mental health problems.
Clinicians at Southern Queensland Correctional Centre work within a multidisciplinary therapeutic team conducting assessments and group and individual intervention to support positive rehabilitation outcomes.
Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre
The Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre is currently under construction in Spring Creek, about 17 kms from the township of Gatton.
Once operational, the Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre will be a high security men’s facility. It’s design and operating model will focus on rehabilitation to reduce offending, with many services and programs provided onsite, such as mental health services and alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs.
The new centre will employ psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers. Together they will provide high-quality services, including mental health and disability assessment, case management and intervention.
Commissioning of Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre will commence late 2024.

Woodford
Living and working in Woodford
Woodford is in the Moreton Bay region of Queensland and is home to approximately 4,000 people. It is a small and charming town, noted for its wide streets, grand old hotel and colonial-style shops.

Woodford Correctional Centre is located about 100 kilometres north of Brisbane.
It is the largest correctional centre in Queensland for male prisoners.
The centre has both a Maximum-Security Unit and a purpose-built Safety Unit – accommodating some of the most complex and vulnerable male prisoners.
Clinicians at the Woodford Correctional Centre undertake assessments, case management and provide interventions that promote the mental health, wellbeing and safety of prisoners.

Clinicians at Townsville Correctional Centre practise within a supportive multidisciplinary team based at one of the main high custody centres, with opportunities to work across locations and in collaboration with colleagues in custodial operations to support positive rehabilitative outcomes.
Clinicians at the centre conduct assessments and provide brief intervention, including a focus on connecting clients with external stakeholders.
