QCS mental health clinicians’ recruitment session in Toowoomba (with audio grab)

Mental health clinicians interested in working with individuals to protect public safety are invited to attend a Queensland Corrective Services information session in Toowoomba next week.

QCS Mental Health Services Manager Katherine Keiler said the information session would provide an opportunity for qualified mental health professionals to learn about the various roles available at the new Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre, including positions for psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers.

“We are looking for dedicated mental health professionals who are passionate about rehabilitation and making a positive impact on public safety,” she said.

“There are a range of secure positions available, with benefits that support work life balance as well as career development within QCS.

“It is a really rewarding career path for mental health clinicians and I encourage anyone interested to come down to our information session to find out more.”

Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre is Queensland’s newest high-security prison.

It will feature enhanced mental health, drug, and alcohol rehabilitation services, with a strong focus on programs that reduce re-offending to make Queensland safer.

Anyone interested in learning more about working for QCS should come along to the Careers for Mental Health Clinicians with Queensland Corrective Services on Wednesday 30 April between 6pm and 8pm at Oaks Toowoomba Hotel.
