Far North Queenslanders looking for a permanent job with unbeatable work life balance are encouraged to attend information nights Monday and Tuesday evenings to learn about careers in Queensland Corrective Services.

QCS is recruiting now for custodial correctional positions at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre, and according to Talent Aquisition Specialist Sharn Gittins, the work life balance and career progression opportunities are unlimited.

Where else can you find a meaningful fulltime secure job where you only work seven shifts a fortnight, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the FNQ livestyle?

Anyone interested in learning more should come along to the info sessions:

  • Monday, 15 May, 7pm at Mareeba Leagues Club
  • Tuesday, 16 May, 7pm at Cairns Colonial Club Resort

“While many people have probably never considered a career in corrections, where else can you work just seven days in a fortnight while undertaking meaningful work to benefit the community?”

“Custodial correctional officers work three or four 12 hour shifts a week, which means they have plenty of time to enjoy the FNQ lifestyle. Being a CCO is a perfect way to hold down a secure, permanent, fulltime job while only working seven days or nights a fortnight.”

“This flexibility suits parents with young children, people looking for off-farm income while running a property, or people simply looking to have more time to enjoy all of the benefits of living in FNQ.

“We provide 10 weeks paid training and a six month mentoring program for new officers, and as long as you have good communication skills, you’ll find you have lots of transferable skills.”

“For those looking to relocate to FNQ, we also offer a $7000 allowance for eligible people.”
