Townsville Correctional Centre General Manager named
Queensland Corrective Services has named the new General Manager of Townsville Correctional Complex.
Chief Superintendent Louise Kneeshaw, who has been acting in the position since March 2020, was today substantively confirmed in the position as a part of a recruitment process which filled a number of General Manager and Deputy General Manager positions across the State.
Deputy Commissioner Custodial Operations Gary McCahon said that Ch Supt. Kneeshaw had done an exceptional job in the role as General Manager in an acting capacity after the previous General Manager was removed from the position last year.
“Ch Supt. Kneeshaw is highly regarded both by her colleagues across the State and the officers at the Townsville Correctional Complex,” Deputy Commissioner McCahon said.
“She came in at a time at the centre when there were some real challenges. She has proved to be a steadying hand for the complex while an independent review of workplace culture was undertaken and has worked hard to address the issues identified.
“I am hopeful that Ch Supt. Kneeshaw’s appointment will provide the staffing group at TCC with the stability and support it needs to really move forward in its culture change agenda and continue its vital work at the front line of public safety,” DC McCahon said.
Ch Supt. Kneeshaw will be supported by two Deputy General Managers – Superintendent Rod Carroll, who will manage the Townsville Women’s Correctional Centre and Superintendent Brad Jones who will manage the Townsville Men’s Correctional Centre.
