Come learn more about QCS for a career that makes a real impact (with audio grabs)
Queensland Corrective Services is hosting an information session in Townsville on Tuesday 23 June for people interested in a meaningful career in community safety to explore the wide range of opportunities available at the agency.
Attendees will hear from experienced officers about the day-to-day duties working inside a correctional centre and the skills and personal attributes that are essential to working as a Custodial Correctional Officer.
Those in attendance will also get an opportunity to meet Molly – a Passive Alert Drug Detection dog (PADD) from the QCS Dog Squad who will be showing off her impressive skills in keeping communities safe.
QCS is recruiting for positions at Townsville Correctional Centre, and according to Talent Acquisition Specialist Mikayla Hansen, the career pathways are unlimited for people wanting to make a real difference in communities.
“A career in corrections is incredibly fulfilling, and if you’re eager to work in a career to keep communities safe and reduce reoffending, we want to hear from you,” she said.
“There are many pathways within QCS with career development opportunities in custodial environments and in the community.”
Anyone interested in learning more about working for QCS should come along to the Custodial Correctional Officer information night on June 23 between 5.30pm and 7pm at Hotel Grand Chancellor 334 Flinders St, Townsville.
