Brisbane, as the capital of the ‘sunshine state’, really is “beautiful one day, perfect the next“. Brisbane Region covers North to South of Brisbane River, down to Wynnum and Redlands and out to Stradbroke and Bay Islands. It provides our workforce with a wonderful mix of diverse experiences, people and multiculturalism across our metro and regional locations.

Our region has the largest number of District Offices, compared with other regions. They are also relatively close to each other in distance. This means our officers have the opportunity to easily work across our different locations during their careers, increasing their exposure to different cohorts and subsequently broadening their case management experience.

We have a designated Programs Team that delivers QCS programs as well as a comprehensive Regional Office which is home to a number of specialist roles. These elements also provide additional unique experiences for our Brisbane Region officers.

Our officers in all district offices partner extensively with a wide range of government and non-government organisations, including multicultural stakeholder groups. Together, we collaborate to provide intervention programs to aid in rehabilitation of our supervised individuals, help reduce re-offending and keep our community safe.

Our region also has the unique opportunity to support certain strategic government agendas that specifically address reoffending. One such initiative is the Queensland Drug and Alcohol Court. This is multiagency and multidisciplinary response, applying contemporary evidence-based principles of therapeutic jurisprudence to address drug-related offending. Brisbane Region is privileged to participate in and contribute to this initiative.

Geographically, Brisbane is a vibrant, growing city with a perfect blend of urban energy, laid back Queensland hospitality and the peace and tranquillity of nature just outside the city centre. Whether it’s taking in an exhibition at Southbank’s cultural precinct, dining in any number of our foodie havens, hiking our magnificent national parks, exploring the hidden gems of charming hinterland towns or discovering the natural beauty of the tropical islands dotting the southeast coastline, there’s plenty to keep you occupied and entertained during your downtime.
