Prisoner extradited to NSW *with new download links*
Queensland Corrective Services today transported convicted child sex offender Ashley Paul Griffith to NSW to face court for further offences.
The transfer of custody from QCS Escort and Security Branch to Corrective Services NSW occurred at Tweed Heads this morning after extradition was green-lit earlier this month.
Griffith had been serving a life sentence with a 27-year non-parole period at Wolston Correctional Centre following his 2024 conviction for offences against 69 girls at early learning centres in Brisbane and Italy over two decades.
He faces a further 202 charges relating to children in NSW. They include sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 years, indecent assault of a person under 16, and producing child abuse material, among other charges related to children.
Griffith will remain in prison in NSW until the completion of his trial and will serve the remainder of his jail term in the state that hands down the longest sentence.
