UPDATE – Visits are back in SEQ

Personal visits have recommenced at South East Queensland prisons following the lifting of restrictions.

This includes prisons from Woodford Correctional Centre, south and west to Southern Queensland Correctional Centre, including all Wacol-based centres, Numinbah and Palen Creek correctional centres.

We thank families for their patience and understanding.

We continue to implement regular cleaning of frequently touched surfaces, regular hand washing, good cough and sneezing etiquette and adhering to workplace COVID-safe plans, including social distancing, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

While non-essential visits have resumed, there are other ways to contact a prisoner. More information is available about virtual visits and prisoner email.

We will continue to act upon the advice of Queensland Health to help keep COVID-19 out of prisons.
